We Won a Sun Fire T1000 in Sun's Open Performance Contest!

This web site documents my experience evaluating a T1000 system obtained from their Try and Buy Program using a constructive approach to integer factorization in the RSA Factoring Challenge as the load under test. Comparisons are made with execution on a Dell PowerEdge 400SC Pentium IV and a MicroCenter PowerSpec 6640 Athlon64, including performance, acquisition and operational cost.

My thanks to Sun Microsystems for letting me, a little, one person shop, running out of his basement (sorry, the garage was taken :-)), have this opportunity. I really learned a lot.

I apologize in advance for the simplicity (hand jammed HTML) of this site - making a fancy web site just wasn't a priority...
