This web site documents my experience evaluating a T1000 system obtained from their Try and Buy Program using a constructive approach to integer factorization in the RSA Factoring Challenge as the load under test (relatively different from most other evaluations and applications, many of which were web server / database applications - this one is primarily compute). Comparisons are made with execution on a Dell PowerEdge Pentium IV and a MicroCenter PowerSpec Athlon64, including performance, acquisition and operational cost.
